The thick fog that quickly rolls in and envelopes Nantucket led sailors to nickname the island “the Grey Lady of the Sea.” This year, it was a very Grey Lady day when Nefertiti competed in Nantucket’s famous Opera House Cup Regatta. OHC is the East Coast’s oldest classic wooden sailing regatta. The race started just outside of the jetty and the 20+ knots of wind sent the fleet on a 15 nautical mile pursuit race on a triangular course with the first rounding near iconic Great Point Light. Thank you to the organizers and race committee of Nantucket Community Sailing for great day of sailing!
